Obedience – Part 3

Moreover, we have had earthly fathers who disciplined us and we yielded and respected them.  Shall we not much more cheerfully submit to the Father of spirits and so truly live.

Hebrews 12:9 – Amplified Bible

Okay, Test 3 –

Do you smile when you are told to do something?    – (Ouch!!!)

A smile communicates that you are pleased to carry out the wishes of your authorities.  The lack of a smile implies that you do not want to do a job.  A frown or any murmuring indicates that you are inwardly rebelling against your authorities, and that you are complying only because you have no alternative.

Again, ouch!!!

Attitude has so much to do with obedience – true obedience.

Sometimes we have to trust God’s heart when we can’t see His hand, and know how much He loves us, and know that He has our best – for eternity – in mind when giving us instructions to obey.

Lord, help me to cheerfully obey, so that I am doing everything for the right reason – for Your glory to show in my life.  Help me to trust Your heart at all times, and to so accept what You give me to do, so that others may see this obedience and glorify You!!!
