Are Your Prayers Being Answered?

Behold, the Lord’s hand is not shortened that it cannot save.  Nor His ear heavy that it cannot hear.

But your iniquities have separated you from your God.  And your sins have hidden His face from you.  So that He will not hear.

Isaiah 59:1-2

Again, this is pretty self-explanatory.

So many times we feel that God doesn’t hear or answer our prayers, and, yes, sometimes it’s just that the “answer” is “no” or “not right now”, but I feel that more often than not, it’s because sin is in the way.

We expect a “vending machine” God to meet our desires without regard to His holiness, and His requirements for how we live.  This type of thinking is very one-sided, don’t you think?

This is not to say to live a holy life merely to get prayers answered.

I’m saying that in order to maintain our relationship with God, we must remember that He is holy, and that sin cannot come into His presence.

Wash me and I will be whiter than snow! Thank you God that the veil was rent in two and when we confess our sins we can come directly into Your presence. May I be quiet before you long enough to be aware of anything that may block that blessed fellowship.
